This Clarke Brothers Wheel Marking Gauge is well made and is a solid performer. It is easy to use one-handed and it holds the measurement for repeated markings. I've used it for more than six months in hardwood and have yet to need to sharpen the wheels.
This marking gauge works very well. The blades are sharp (came with 2 spares), it is accurate and easy to read, and the set screw holds well. Well worth the price.

This little guy is pretty handy, even though it's plastic. Not sure of the longevity of this item, but it's not that expensive. It's nice to have a torpedo level, straight ruler, square, and 45 degree all in one.
